I received these questions from Trevor yesterday … and thought that others might benefit from the answers:

I’m doing a project for Accounting and I’m having some problems with excel, so I thought I’d say hi and ask for help since I haven’t heard from you in a while =)
Question 1:
I have a spreadsheet and I want to copy a cells format (background color etc.) and expand that styling to a few new rows I added. There has to be an easy way to not copy a cell’s contents but copy a cells format style, and I’m sure you know.
Answer:
1. Click the cell, whose format you want to copy. Then click the format painter, as shown below
2. Use your mouse to highlight the cells where you want to paste the format (hold the left mouse button for multiple cells)
3. When you lift the left mouse button, the format will be painted.
Question 2:
How do you auto format cell dimensions with 2007? I copied a bunch of data from a website and cells are out of proportion with the content that’s in them.
Answer:
You can easily change row or column heights by clicking the line to the right of the column you want to autosize or the line at the bottom of the row you want to auto size.
If you click the column first (column B in this example) it will look like this:
If you click the row first (row 3 in this example) it will look like this (assuming that you have wrap text selected for that cell)
