Fix from Rich Jollie
Prologue from Sandi …
I have been ignoring the iTunes updates for about 6 months … Last night, I finally pushed the update button. This morning, none of my WAV files worked. I use Zayo Managed Services, Voicemail to email feature. Every voicemail I receive is saved as a WAV file that as of this morning wouldn’t open in iTunes. I searched the net, but couldn’t find a solution. Then Hannah Wanderer referred me to Rich Jollie and he sent this simple fix.
Rich’s Fix: Remove iTunes as your default WAV application
- Open My Documents
- Go to Tools (at the top) and select folder options
- Go to File Types
- Scroll in the box down to WAV
- You will see ITunes under the box in Details for WAV file Select Change and pick Windows Media Player
This will make anything that comes in as .wav play thru the Windows Media Player.
