Be the first to use Freepath

Thanks to Dave Giusti - former Google Engineering Manager who now works for Freepath - for giving me the heads up on a new social networking/collaboration tool.  The concept was a little confusing for me, because like any startup, they are trying to create a new Lexicon around this space.  Whenever you see the word “Playlist” it means “your site.”

What makes Freepath different?  (1) they have “Free” in their name, so they aren’t likely to trick you into paying down the road (2) since the files launch in freepath, you can edit and save.  (This is a feature that is missing from Google Groups)  If you aren’t sure how you can use this tool, take the 90 second tour.

Dave says:

Take a look at Freepath 2.0, a free tool where you create playlists that contain content that can include websites, images, videos, documents, presentations, PDFs, pretty much anything. You then call up the content for a presentation when you want it, presenting it in a non-linear flexible way. These files are launched from within Freepath; no need to launch Word, a Browser, etc. and can be displayed through a projector or a second monitor.

Once you have added your content to a playlist, you can upload your playlist to myFreepath to share and collaborate with others. Again, this is free-both the tool and the space. Currently, we give new users 100mb of storage.
