Zayo has a 10 day financial close process. Every day, we get more information that could make the monthly numbers just a bit more accurate. Each month around day 10, a line forms outside Tim Gentry’s office (Tim is Zayo’s Controller). He patiently listens to a bevy of business owners as they beg for just one more day to get entries in. Extending deadlines is a slippery slope for any business, and Tim knows it.
He has a new saying:
Put your Pencils Down
And he means it!
