My mother is the Assistant Director of Special Education in NW Indiana.  She often points out that children can’t learn when they have difficult situations to cope with at home - hunger, violance, neglect, etc.  The same applies to adults.  Occasionally employees are faced with difficult situations inside and outside work.  Coping with these situations is often a private matter that you don’t want to discuss with your friends or colleagues.    If left unresolved, they will impact work performance and satisfaction.

At Zayo, we offer a free Employee Assistance Program at 800-756-5792 where trained counselors will direct you to subject matter experts who can help guide you through difficult times.

You can call for anything, including: stress at home, how to pay for college, financial advice, legal guidance, help stopping smoking, helath issues, counseling with a traumatic situation, or with substance abuse.  Every employee has access to 3 free sessions per year with the subject matter experts.  Employees who’ve used this service in the past have let me know how much it helped.
