How to build Marimekko/Mekko Charts

The Harvard MBA’s love Marimekko charts.  They kind of give me a headache - which is saying a lot, because I LOVE charts! :)

The Marimekko chart compares 2 related variable by % of total and magnitude.  Example, you can compare 4 market segments and compare how 6 different companies perform against each market segment in one chart. These are great marketing charts, because it becomes clear where you should focusing your efforts.

Thank goodness Jon Peltier took the time to write a post that describes how to construct a Marimekko chart … he does a fantastic job walking you through each step.
