When you have a new blog, you’ll be surprised at how few people stop by your site. It’s sad. When you start your blog, you have all of these wonderful things to share, and only 7 or 8 people stop by. And you strongly suspect that those 7 or 8 visits are from your mother … who’s never quite figured out what you do for a living.
I did a lot of research a year ago, when my blog was having trouble beating the 10 visits a day count (a year later we’re up to about 800 visits a day - Yay! Thank you readers!!). One of the ways I was able to get my traffic count up, was to to register my blog. To simplify your research, check out Words in a Row, where they publish many of the places where you should register and ping your blog.
They include:
- Technorati Sign-Up Page
- Google BlogSearch registration
- Blogdigger Submission
- Add you Feed to Syndic8
- BlogPulse Submit
- Submit to Best of the Web
- and others
