Google Base goes head to head with Craigslist and ebay by offering Google Product Search as a free service. Google Base allows you to list up to One Million Items and the only requirement is that you have a Google account. Google says, “Our goal is to enable users to search over the broadest possible range of products for sale online. To do that, we’re offering this service to all sellers at no charge.”
To post an item on Google Base:
- Click on the One at a time link on the Google Base homepage.
- Select the type of information you’re submitting (or create your own type of information) and click Next >.
- After you’ve entered and reviewed your item’s formatting, click Publish. Within a few hours, your item will be visible to the world.
Note: If you’d like to create more than ten items, you might consider sending us a data feed. This will save you from having to create multiple items by hand. Learn more about feeds.
The warning I would give is that you shouldn’t expect a lot of support. The service is free, and it will generate traffic. If something goes wrong, you will have to go to Google Base Help Forum.
