What happens when you Post to a Friend’s Wall in Facebook?

In Facebook, the person who owns the wall own’s how the message is delivered.

If your Friend lets EVERYONE view their wall, then your Wall post can be viewed by EVERYONE. Writing on a wall should be viewed as public information. Depending on your Friend’s settings, wall posts show up in Newsfeeds. So if you make a crazy comment via a wall post, it may be broadcast to mutual friends and friends of friends, etc.  Just like comments on blog posts, once you’ve posted, you can’t take it back.

If you want to tell a friend that they did a great job on a project, posting on a wall is a fabulous way to get the message across.  If you want to share private information, your best bet is to use a private message rather than writing on someone’s wall.
