Excel Formula to Remove Characters after a hyphen

What if you want ot remove characters to the right of a hyphen?

Example: 316-56-1084-abc converted to 56-1084-abc

Use this formula to remove all characters to the right of the first hyphen: =RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-FIND(”-”,A1))

Similarly, you can remove  all characters to the right of the second hyphen.

Example: 316-56-1084-abc converted to 316-56

Use this formula to convert: =LEFT(A1,FIND(”_”,SUBSTITUTE(A1,”-”,”_”,2))-1)
