Can’t access your Google Account?

I am a huge fan of Google.

I am also disappointed in their zero support policy.  When there is an issue, users are pretty much left alone to try and solve the problem.   Google created help self help forums for each of its products.  The employees that Google hires to watch the forums on the products must be the worst kind of introverts … because there is no evidence that they read the requests for help.   And don’t try to get in the backdoor.  Google’s gate keepers (receptionists) are trained to block your calls if you try to reach the product managers or an internal help desk.

Is there hope of reinstating your Google Account in the event that your password stops working and a simple password reset won’t work?  There is a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.   Your best bet, is to be prepared in advance for the possibility that this could happen.  Your account could be taken over by a hacker, or it could somehow get corrupted.  Read the questions below, and keep the answers in a safe place.

    1. I think Google already outsourced it. Unfortunately, they outsourced it to their customers. Google seems to be having a hard time making the transition from developer to maintainer. They like working on new stuff, but seem to care less about the products that their customers are already using.

Either they don’t realize that their repair service is terrible, or they don’t care (it’s free - so it doesn’t have to work????).

The real opportunity is for a company that can provide great service in this space. When Google sees its ad revenue start to slip, they will react and provide better service or get left behind.

    2. Sounds like a business opportunity for someone to set up shop to provide Google help services for a very small fee per transaction. Probably could outsource to India or near shore(seriously). What do ya say Mrs. Mays?! Are you up for the challenge.
