My son is doing a report on Charlie Chaplin, and we watched a few movies together. The Dictator is one of Chaplin’s later films.
The Great Dictator was first released in 1940, it was Chaplin’s first true talking picture, and more was the only major film in that time frame to satirize Nazism and Adolf Hitler. Chaplin helped stir condemnation of Hitler, fascism, antisemitism, and the Nazis. He refers to Nazi’s as “machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts”.
This clip is hilarious … you won’t be disappointed!
